Born in Birkenhead, Rheam first exhibited in London in 1887. He studied in London, Paris and Germany and was primarily a watercolourist. This charming watercolour of a young girl wearing a yellow bonnet is one of the many subjects he was to paint while he lived and worked in Cornwall. Rheam first settled in Polperro but moved to Newlyn in 1890. His watercolours are highly regarded and much sort after.
