Exceptional Victorian Ormalu and Gilt Riccoco mantel antique clock by japy Freres having an 8 day silk suspension movement, chimming on a bell every hour and half hour. All original gilding in exceptional condition with patterned case even round to the back. And having a glass dust door on the rear. Engraved dial with porcelain lozenge numerals with retailer name on dial and back of movement.The movement has been cleaned and oiled and has been bench tested for 2 weeks. This clock ticks all the boxes and is a perfect example of a clock from this period and by a top Paris maker. All in all a good investment as well as a perfect timepiece.
