This is an antique Kashan carpet from Central Iran with an attractive colour palette which dates from around 1900. The finely woven rug has a flower filled warm cream field with an indigo and deep red medallion framed by red spandrels and deep meandering vine borders. The carpet has light allover wear in keeping with its age, and the ends and selvedges are complete, with slight wear to the fringe ends.. It is a useful size measurring 216 cms by 120 cms.
