Early 20th century Naval sword by J.Friedeberg
Early 20th century Naval sword retailed by J.Friedeberg, Portsea. Cast brass hilt with snap folding guard. Brass wire bound shagreen grip and with original sword knot. Brass mounted, black leather scabbard. Has a wide acid etched, single edged blade which is marked by J. Friedeberg, 81 Queen St, Portsea. Note we understand he ceased trading in 1917. Blade is etched with fouled anchor, Royal coat of Arms and foliage. This sword is in good overall condition and with slight rust staining to blade. Approximately 96.5cm overall and blade 80cm.
