Early 20th Century French Terrestrial Globe
A 12" Table Globe by J. Lebegue of Paris c.1909
This is a fine and colourful Lebegue terrestrial Globe- Empires such as the British, the Austria-Hungarian and the Ottoman are shown to have conquered the world. Cities such as Constantinople, and St. Petersburg are visible.
it is made from coated paper gores over a plaster sphere. It has a globe rotation knob on mounting arm. The Cast iron and highly detailed base has faces and lions paws.
The age of the globe has been identified by the political borders displayed Persia, Belgian Congo. The Austrian Hungarian Empire is displayed as well as St Petersburg. Rhodesia not yet split into north and south.

Current Condition
A good colouration without much discolouration, there is a slight indentation 5cm long over Russia. (see image)
