A quality Drocourt earlier 'one-piece' gilded case carriage antique clock a with large glass top aperture. Smaller case proportions. An enamel dial and 'moon' blued steel hands. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a bell. Push button repeating. The original lever escapement. Circa 1865.

Drocourt is one of the noted carriage clock makers. The H.L. mark on the mechanism front plate is the makers Holingue frères who were suppliers of both movements and antique clocks to many fine horologists including Drocourt, Paul Garnier, Moise Bollviller and Athanase Bourdin. Holingue workshops were purchased by Drocourt in 1875 with the movements prior to this date marked H.L. The mechanism is numbered 5051.
