This is an antique presentation tray. An English, oak and silver plated 'Sunday best' tea or serving tray, dating to the early Edwardian period, engraved 1902.

Exceptional example of English oak with personalised interest
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
Striking oak graced with fine grain interest and abundance of medullary rays
Brightly polished silver plate beams against the rich caramel hues

Octagonal tray with a pair of serpentine carry handles
Personal engraving to centre celebrating over 30 years of service
Presented to a Mr. Butterworth at Christmas in 1902
Standing upon a quartet of charming, squat bun feet
