Antique ebonised and brass cabinet / jewellery box. A Tortoiseshell and brass inlaid cabinet on turned feet. Dating from circa 1850. The cabinet has two front doors and two drawers below. Upper brass gallery, and domed doors. This cabinet would have taken many hundreds of hours to create and is wonderful quality. Even the drawers and inside the cabinet is veneered in exotic wood. Comes with key. This would likely have been created to display curios or art collected during a grand tour. Condition : some restoration over the years to the tortoiseshell and brass. Some slight shrinkage damage to top (I have closeups, please request for details). It appears to have been professionally re-ebonised relatively recently. Dimensions in cm: H63.5 x D24.5 x W75. Inside cabinet : max depth : 17, Height from base to first shelf 17.5, Height from shelf to top 18. Internal width 65.5. Returns
