Antique Copper Posnet. Brandy warmer. Saucepan.
This is a charming Georgian copper 3 legged posnet, brandy or saucepan.
Hand made and quite a rare piece of antique metalware, it dates to the 18th or early 19th Century.
The bowl is beaten from a single piece of copper with a rolled rim.
The handle is turned fruitwood and the 3 legs shaped with scrolled feet and riveted to the pan. One of these is extended to form the arm with the socket beaten and rolled to take the wooden handle.
In good original condition. There is the remains of a makers mark to the base.
Total length 16 inches.
Rim 6 inch diameter.
