A typically streamlined design of the period, this bookcase is made of mahogany and the glazing bars and moulded edges are ebonised. The glazed double doors open to reveal four fixed and graduated shelves. The stand has square-sectioned legs and further ebonised details.

It bears a Heal's button to the inside of one door and can be seen in their catalogues of the period.

It measures 129.5cm high, 93cm wide and 26cm deep. The graduated shelves vary from 20cm to 27.5cm high.

It is in good and original condition with a number of minor knocks and blemishes. As with much mahogany antique furniture of the period, the white flecks of grain filler can be seen beneath the polish over much of the surface. It has its original key.
