A good 18thC Primitive Welsh Rushlight Holder
A beautiful large and early 18thC Welsh Rushlight of stunning primitive form. With a fantastic heavy chamfered rectangular ash wood base, Straight square tapering stem with traditional jaws and conical tapered candle holder counter weight. In exceptional condition with just some historic wear to on the candle holder to mention. Stunning surface and patina throughout, base completely original and free from worm and damage. This is a truly beautifully primitive example, they do not come much better.
Height 33cm. Base 12.5cm x 10.5cm
