19th century Japanese Wakizashi short sword in its original speckled lacquer scabbard. Has a cord bound hilt over a fish skin grip with two silver menuki ornaments. Has plain iron mounts with pierced Tsuba guard. There is a single edged tapering blade with some rust staining and some original finish. Also there is a plain iron kozuka fitted to the scabbard. There are some areas of heavy wear overall and two edge nicks to blade. Tang has one hole but is not signed. Please note the Tsuba is loose on the tang.

Approximately 54cm overall and blade 44.5cm.
