An absolute gem of a box, vintage in era dating to the mid-twentieth century and in superb condition, a truly magical jewelry box.

Highly graphic in the juxtaposition of malachite sections to create this high-quality intarsia. Fabricated in Russia of malachite originating in the Democratic Republic of Congo, with piano hinged lid opening to reveal an opulent green crushed velvet interior, with a gilded bronze cherub to each corner, malachite cabochon thumbpiece to the front. With a solid bronze plate lining the underside of the box.
