Victorian Taxidermy Amazon Parrot Specimen Cased
This is a good 19th century taxidermy of an Amazon Parrot (Amazona Aestiva) dating from around 1880. The full mount is of an adult bird displayed perched upon a grit and moss covered mound, amidst a natural setting of tall grasses and fauna, set against a wash painted interior. It is enclosed in its original Victorian three glass angled display case with gilded timber frame which measures 45 cms wide 46 cms high by 15 cms deep.
