Regency Tunbridge Ware Tea Caddy c.1820

This is an exceptional example of a Regency Tunbridge ware tea caddy circa 1820-1830. The lid is covered in an Isometric Cube design where a wide range of exotic woods have been used. This design is bordered by a detailed boxwood and rosewood parquetry design, which itself is bordered by a boxwood and rosewood zig zag pattern. Around the sides is the Van Dyke triangle design, again using a wide range of exotic woods.
On the inside, the lid is lined in a red leather. The twin compartments are lidded and display the same parquetry design as is on the lid and around the sides. Please note there is a slight bow to one of the internal lids.
The tea caddy sits on brass ball feet with small acanthus leaves that sit on top of the feet for further decoration. The sides have two gilt brass drop ring handles of a classical Greek woman.
This tea caddy is in excellent condition with a working lock and key.
