Exceptional pair of mid 20th.c. walnut drop leaf side antique tables c.1970. Unusual dimensions, opening to make 56″ x 18″ table tops but folding down to just 12″ wide. Superb quality cabinet making solid walnut tops with a crossbanded border in yew wood, on solid walnut gateleg bases with Gothic arch ends, fluted column legs joined with shaped stretchers and crisply carved claw feet raised on brass castors. With a carved signature J.G.S to the underside together with a paper label indicating they were once the property of Lord Wardington (1924-2005). Excellent condition.
