Pair Of Directoire Style Upholstered Armchairs

An attractive pair of French upholstered armchairs. We date these chairs to the late 20th century.
The chairs sit on two ornately carved legs at the front with splayed square section legs at the rear.
The chairs have loose seat cushions along with the padded backrests and armrests. The chairs are upholstered in a gold material with a studded edge. The frames have lovely carved designs with a roll top to the backrest. The chairs have been given a distressed look on parts of the frame.
The chairs have an overall height of 38.5" (98cm), with an overall width of 26.5" (68cm) and an overall depth of 26.5" (68cm). It has a backrest height of 20.5" (51cm), a seat height of 19.5" (50cm), a seat width of 21" (53cm) and a seat depth of 19" (48cm).
This attractive pair of armchairs remains in a good solid condition with only minor surface marks commensurate with age and usage, including some very light wear on the frame including the top rear of backrest, there is a mark on the seat cushion material on one chair from past use.
This remains a very stylish and elegant pair of armchairs. They are very comfortable and supportive to sit on and will continue to provide rest and relaxation for many years to come.
