Model 1909 Turkish Army officers short sword


A rare 1909 Turkish officers short sword.
Plain brass knuckle guard hilt with wooden ribbed grip (couple of small cracks in hilt - see photos) - all tight
Blade in good condition with inscription one side ‘Allah Bizimile’ and two letters other side.
Black painted steel scabbard with brass frog stud.
405 mm blade length, 560mms overall in scabbard.
Provenance given by auction house when purchased many years ago - ‘sent home from Gallipoli by Private James Pockock, 8th Battalion, Hampshire Regiment (Isle of Wright Rifles) to his cousin, hence by decent.’
A very nice example of this rare WW1 sword with some known history!
