Mid-size 1940 Bulova Ranger curvex wrist watch
1940s Bulova Ranger curvex wrist watch.
The watch has a calibre 10AE 17-jewel hand-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and it has the date code for 1940. The 10AE was in production from 1929 until 1940 so this would have been one of the last to be produced.
The watch measures 25mm wide excluding the winding crown and 30mm high excluding the lugs so although originally designed as a man’s watch, it would suit a slimmer wrist. The case is 10k rolled gold and the case back is stainless steel. Referring back to the old 1940 Bulova catalogues, this model was called the Ranger. The case is in beautiful condition. The back of the watch has the initials JPT.
The lens is in lovely condition.
The signed dial has been re-finished at some stage. Original hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
