The highly decorative patinated bronze and ormolu case is of architectural pillar form. The gilt engine-turned dial centre is fitted with a silvered chapter ring bearing Roman numerals and moon-style hands. The high-quality eight-day movement strikes the hours and half-hours on a bell. The pendulum is of unusual gridiron form.
