A fine and well proportioned French antique gilt Oval mirror, dating from 1890.
Retaining its original water-gilding, which has worn through to the base terracotta bole/ gesso in places, which gives the gilding a lovely mellow look. Original mirror plate with only very light foxing and a generous shallow beveled edge, the frame retains its original backing boards.
Stunning crest detail, with a French horn and Mandolin intertwined with foliage.
Sizes 111 cm tall X 77 cm wide.
