This is a large antique trunk case. An English, leather steamer or shop display suitcase, dating to the Edwardian period, circa 1910. A wonderfully charismatic example of early 20th century travel goods, boasting superb proportion and visual presence.

Impressive Edwardian travel trunk with superb character and distinction
Displays a desirably patinated, time-worn appearance throughout
Quality tanned leather offers warm caramel hues and appealing texture
Robust construction with oak staves to the base, copper rivets and leather corner cappings

Lid bears the name of a former owner, V. E. Sturgess, with other details redacted
The top ably secured by a pair of long leather straps and a central sliding clasp
