A very fine and well proportioned antique giltwood overmantel mirror dating from 1860.
Frame water gilded to the highest of standards using 23.5 carat gold leaf.
Mercury mirror plate is original and has areas of foxing and an overall grey hue to the silvering, very atmospheric.
Very well carved base decoration
Original backing board and hanging plates.
Sizes 148 cm max width at base. 125.5 cm tall. Main frame width 122 cm.
