Unusual mid 20th.c. Indian carved hardwood chest c.1960. Featuring a delightful scene of a family of elephants before a background of trees carved in high relief to the lid. Elaborately carved front, sides and rear with a traditional Indian pattern of symmetrically arranged scrolling foliate forms and flower heads. Good condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
