Here is an attractive, good quality and sought after size antique George III style mahogany leather office desk, circa 1980. Boasting a block design, the desk features a good quality single panel ochre brown and gold-tooled leather insert. Below, the desk sits on rectangular pedestals, which house a bank of graduated drawers. The drawers have cock-beaded fronts with gunmetal swan neck handles and lovely flame mahogany veneer fronts. The drawer linings are dovetailed. The top three drawers feature a working lock and key the other drawers were not designed to have locks. The bottom right hand drawer features a useful partition-filing drawer. The sides and back of the pedestals feature polished panels, which means the desk can be freestanding in the centre of a room (or if you prefer, against a wall). The pedestal exteriors feature decorative panel beading. The desk sits on Georgian style bracket feet. The pedestals, frame and drawer bottoms and sides are constructed of engineered timber with a flame mahogany veneer.
This is a sought after desk having a serpentine design and popular size. The desk can be dismantled into three sections (top and two pedestals)for easy transportation and access through the narrowest of doorways to its intended location.
This item features a rich dark brown mahogany colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a good colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

The desk has a working key, which operates the top three drawers only. The other drawers were not designed with locks. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
