Gents Bulova wrist watch.
The watch has a good quality 23 jewel automatic movement which is working nicely. This movement was in production from 1969 to 1976, the date code on this particular movement dates it back to 1971.
The watch measures 35mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is gold plated with the thicker 40 microns of plate. It is in lovely condition. Plain winding crown.
Interestingly the case back has an image of a dancing lady. The reasoning for this is not clear but it could be a modernised version of an elegant dancing lady who first appeared in Bulova adverts in the 1920s. Inside, it has the date code for 1966… it is unclear whether Bulova were using older stocks of cases or whether the movement is a replacement but either way, they sit very well together.
The lens is in good condition, just a couple of minor marks which are barely visible to the naked eye.
The signed pale cream dial is in good condition and it has an early form of quickset date where the hands are repeatedly moved backwards and forwards between 12 midnight and 8.15pm until the desired date is reached.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
