A lovely 19th Cent.Mahogany Drop Dial Wall Clock with English 8 day Fusee Timepiece Movement.The Dial surround is octagonal with Rosewood Crossbanding,the trunk has the original carved Ears and is inlaid with two small circular boxwood and inlaid Paterae. There is slight 'shrinkage' lines across the Trunk which have been wax filled.The entire case has been cleaned and beeswaxed giving a desirable soft sheen.The 12"white painted convex Dial has a convex Glass and cast Brass Bezel,Dial is signed 'J Hancock,Yeovil',recorded as working c.1840.The good quality movement has shaped plates and has been fully restored in our own Workshop. I am listed as a Private Dealer but some of my Stock can be viewed at The Antiques Emporium,Lewes,E.Sussex and also The Arcade, The Corn Exchange,The Pantiles, Tunbridge Wells..If you wish, I am am able meet you there to discuss any items and also bring along any items which are on Antiques Atlas but not displayed in either Shop.
