Stunning and rare example of a 17th century carved and silvered Bunched Leaf Frame dating from 1670.
Frame retains its original silver leaf water-gilding in stunning antique condition.
Frame houses a wonderfully atmospheric mercury silvered mirror plate with generous overall foxing.
Being so early in date the frame is joined using wooden pegs, which are visible from the back of the frame.
All decoration is from carved wood and is very well executed, the flowers and leaves being heavily undercut to give a wonderful three dimensional effect.
Sizes 95 cm X 82 cm.
