A lovely double bed frame. We date this bed to the mid 20th century.

The bed comes in four sections, the head and footboards, the metal side rails and an upholstered divan base.

The head board sits on square section legs and the footboard sits on the floor with a recessed base. The upholstered base sits on the side rails.

The headboard and footboard both are lovely arched topped panels veneered with finely figured birdseye maple.

The headboard has a height of 40" (102cm) and the footboard a height of 24" (61cm), both by 54" (137cm) wide and with an overall length of 78” (198cm). The base will support a mattress 75" (191cm) long by 54" (137cm) wide.

This lovely bed remains in very good solid condition with some minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage. There is a bit of wear to the edges of the footboard. The headboard shows some mellowing primarily to the lower half and some minor wear to the veneer. The upholstered divan base has a bit of wear to the fabric including some small holes in the centre.

This remains a very stylish and elegant bed which will continue to provide sweet repose for many years to come.
