Antique Omega pocket watch, c1932 Omega pocket watch watch %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
Antique Omega pocket watch, c1932.

The watch has a 15-jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the Omega name and it also carries the serial number 7,591,934 which dates it back to around 1932.

The movement is protected by an inner cover which has the name Omega and also images of medals won at trade exhibitions in Bienne and Geneva.

The watch measures 49mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is 800 silver and there are Continental hallmarks inside both of the case backs. The inner case back also has the early Omega logo. Originally there would have been a rose gold wash around the bezel, side of the case and to the edge of the case back but much of this has worn off leaving only traces.

The case has the odd small “ding” but overall is in good condition for a 1930s piece. The back of the watch has engine turned detail and a vacant cartouche although they have worn down with years of use.

The glass lens is in lovely condition.

The dial is signed with the Omega name and logo and also the name A B Oscar Burman Umeå Skellefteå Robertsfors. A B Oscar was the original Swedish retailer, founded in 1926, he was listed as a watch maker, retailer / jeweller and optician. The dial is in its original finish which has mellowed nicely with age, and there is a little surface marking. Breguet style hands in a blued steel finish, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.

All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.

We are a VAT registered company and all purchases are covered by Consumer Regulations.

Credit / debit card purchases can be made over the telephone on 01386 750238 or you can proceed via the \'Buy Securely\' button on each listing page.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
