A large and impressive antique mahogany and parcel gilt overmantle mirror. This was made in England, it likely dates from around the 1890-1900 period.

It is of very fine quality, with beautifully carved fretwork around the top edges and gorgeous pierced parcel gilt carving in the centre of the top. The glass has bevelled edges and also has borders of parcel gilt moulding.

The frame is in very good condition, we have just had this re-polished. There is no surface damage to the glass, there is some spotting and wear to the silvered backing here and there, most noticeably at the top of the central section.
