An antique chatelaine for a young lady to wear at a ball with the necessary repair kit of a scent bottle, mirror and cosmetic pot! It is made of steel deliberately oxidized to appear a silver grey.

It has an applied motif of a lucky four leaf clover set with stones on the three appendages so she should have met her beau whilst wearing it!

The end clips are of rolled gold and quite dramatic. The part that goes over a belt or waist band has been left plain and is silver plate on copper. c 1870

In excellent condition-all original.
