Ancient Egyptian Polychrome Amulet of the god Bes
An Egyptian polychrome faience amulet of the beloved god Bes with his body of a dwarf, leonine head, and feather headdress. The amulet is crafted with a bright blue satin glaze with raised accents in yellow and is modelled similarly on both sides. The figure is pierced through the neck for suspension.
Roman-Egyptian period: Circa 1st Century BC - 1st Century AD
Very Fine condition. Height 4.6 cms (1.8 ins)
