Ancient Egyptian blue glazed faience amulet of the wedjat, the 'eye of Horus', the pupil and eyebrow enhanced in black glaze. Pierced longitudinally for suspension.

Third Intermediate Period to Late Period: Circa 1070-332 BC.

Very Fine condition.
Length 23 mms (0.9 ins).

Provenance: Ex collection K.R., Rhineland-Palatinate, collection period from 1980 - 2000.

The Eye of Horus was a powerful symbol of protection in Ancient Egypt, also known as the Wedjet, (or Ujat, meaning "Whole One") and the "all seeing eye". It was believed to have healing and protective power and was used as a protective amulet.

An item found to be unsatisfactory may be returned to TimesAncient for a full refund within 14 days of receipt, provided it is returned in the same condition as sent.
The Buyer will bear responsibility for return shipping costs, safe packing and insurance.
