A 30 Hr 12" painted Dial Longcase Clock by Deacon of Leicester. The Deacons were a Family of Clockmakers during the 18 cent, the Cases were always superior quality even for the 30 Hr Movements.The Painted Dial has been 'tidied' and details redefined.The Movement has been fully overhauled /restored and also the Case which is Oak with Mahogany Crossbanding, Inlays, and Shell Inlays in Long Door and the Base.N.B. The Base had been reduced by about 2"at some time in the past and required a new Plinth , this shows some loss in the base Quadrant Inlays on the Corners. The Paterae,Ball and Spire,and Brass Capitals are all original to the Clock.Overall Max Height to top of Ball and Spire is 84". A Handsome and well proportioned Clock. I am listed as a Private Dealer but some of my Stock can be viewed at The Antiques Emporium,Lewes,E.Sussex and also The Arcade, The Corn Exchange,The Pantiles, Tunbridge Wells..If you wish, I am am able meet you there to discuss any items and also bring along any items which are on Antiques Atlas but not displayed in either Shop.
