19thC Dessing Table Mirror

A 19thC Oak and burr oak dressing table mirror attributed to Richard Bridgens.
Richard Hicks Bridgens started his career in Liverpool where he was apprenticed and worked for the renowned cabinet maker George Bullock. In 1814 he moved to London and continued working with George Bullock. When George Bullock died in 1818, Bridgens started his own business in Birmingham from 1819 to 1825. He too produced extraordinary pieces, ahead of his time and unlike anything anyone had seen before. His most notable known work was for James Watt junior at Aston Hall designing antique furniture and making architectural alterations in the Jacobean style. When his wife inherited a sugar plantation the couple left Birmingham for Trinidad.
