1930s stainless steel Doxa pocket watch and chain.
The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the Doxa name, 17 jewels unadjusted, Swiss made. Doxa was (and still is) an independent Swiss company, founded in 1889 by Georges Ducommon who started his watch making apprenticeship at the age of just 12 years old. Doxa was a well respected company famous for their diver's watches but they also supplied both the British and German military with high spec watches.
The watch measures 44mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is stainless steel and has light surface marking but overall it is in nice condition for a 1930s piece. The inside of the back cover is also signed with the Doxa logo.
The glass lens is in nice condition.
The signed dial has some light age related marking. The hour and minute hands are replacements although correct for the period.
The watch comes with a double chain, it is darker than the watch case but they sit well together.
The watch and chain come in a new presentation box.
