18th Cent London Longcase Grandfather Clock

A lovely elegant longcase clock by Peter Oyens. He is listed as working in London from 1756 to 1778.
The case is in beautiful figured mahogany, is of typical London style and is in good unrestored condition. It has retained its original finish and is a lovely colour. The slim trunk has wonderful cast gilt brass Corinthian capitals and reeded quarter columns.
The good quality 8 day five pillar movement strikes the hours on a bell. It has a smart brass and silvered dial with subsidiary seconds dial and the all important strike/silent selector to the arch.
There are a few minor marks and knocks consistent with the items age and use.
The movement is in good condition and keeping good time.
The maximum dimensions are:
209cm (86") high excluding finials
47cm (18.5") wide
26cm (10") deep
Free local delivery and set up ,(60mls), national and international delivery arranged at cost.
