A rare mechanical illuminated shopfront advertising sign. This original freestanding wooden sign is for Jet Glaze 'paste' from the 1940-50's, it is both mechanical and illuminated and is untouched from this period. The paintwork is in excellent condition having lovely vibrant colours throughout. The sign is labeled to the back as being supplied by the Palatine Sign Company Olympia, Manchester. Important: The sign is being sold as a collectors piece as the electrics would certainly not be up to today's safety standards, it does fully work with the fire in the main part of the sign being illuminated every couple of seconds from behind with a standard bulb. The right arm of the lady swings from side to side as and when the fire is lit. This item should not be left unattended as it has all of its original flex and electrical connections. IT IS NOT A TOY!
