A high quality Mathematical set by W H Harling, London. The figured walnut box opens to reveal a regal purple interior with fitted mathematical instruments, the top tray lifts out to reveal further mathematical accompanying tools. Excellent antique condition throughout, retaining the original lock and key. Circa 1880.W H Harling - Mathematical Instrument Maker since 1851.
1851 Harling founded the firm at 47 Finsbury Pavement, London. They specialised in making drawing instruments, with a factory at Grosvenor Works, Hackney, London EC.
