This is beautiful. I don't suppose there is a drawing room in Britain that wouldn't be improved by the presence of this bust!

The bust is large and made in polychrome carrara marble. It is Italian and dates to the 1920s.

The bust of a beautiful Lady is in wonderful Art Deco colours, with muted browns and greens that look so good against the purity of the white face. The style of the hat is of the 1920s period.

The bust is beautifully carved, not just the face which is very serene and cool but also the way the marble is carved around her bust so that it seems to drape slightly just like the fabric of a dress. The bust is raised on a cavetto shaped marble plinth.

The bust is in good condition. Slither off the edge of the bow of her hat - see photo. Very minor grinding at lip where head sits on shoulders - see photo. The bust is 60 cm (23.5 inches) high and 38 cm (15 inches) wide. This is a heavy bust weighing around 50 lbs.

I love the quiet opulence of the bust. It is large and imposing but the colour in the marble with washed out browns and dirty greens look so good against gilt picture frames and mahogany tables. This is a beautiful decorators piece.
