DESCRIPTION:
This practical and beautiful 1950s 16-drawer oak and beech haberdashery display counter is a true gem. Featuring an oak frame and beech drawer fronts with elegant inset finger pull handles, it boasts a classy, stylish retro look. The counter stands on block legs, and both the oak frame and beech drawers have mellowed into a lovely honey colour over its life. The counter has been well-maintained, showcasing the superb craftsmanship of its manufacture.
The counter has been given a general clean and polish to preserve its natural patina as much as was possible, with all old advertising sticker residue carefully removed. A new 6.4mm thick laminated glass top has been fitted, replacing the discoloured original. This counter is ready to be used and enjoyed for many years to come, whether in commercial settings or residential spaces, such as kitchens or craft rooms.

WORKSHOP REPORT:
This counter has been through our workshop where we have preserved as much of the original patina and signs of previous ownership and use as possible. We have fitted a new 4.6mm laminated glass top, replacing the old one that was too foggy and scratched. There is a small piece of trim missing on the bottom left-hand side just under the glass, but this does not detract from the beauty of the piece. Other than that, the odd bump and mark have been embraced, adding to the character of the counter and its nothing that one shouldn’t expect and in some cases clients want.
