Description

A fine example of the workmanship of Hannah Barlow and Lucy Barlow for Doulton Lambeth.

This stoneware vase is clearly dated on the base and also clearly shows the maker's marks of the Barlow sisters. Hannah Barlow is very well known for her artistry. Her younger sister, Lucy, was considered a minor talent and focussed on borders and surrounds for her sisters Hannah and Florence. The vase is in a footed amphora form, with sgraffito decorated cows.

There is damage to two small balls on the middle rim but otherwise it is in excellent condition.

Height: 20cm
Diameter of top: 13cm
