Description

A Fine Ash Wood Windsor Armchair with Elm Seat. Piercings in the back splats suggest the maker to be John Gabbitas or his brother Henry, the earliest recorded chair makers in Worksop c 1822 to 1839.

This chair is in excellent condition with good mellow colour and patina. Signs of extinct woodwork to two of the turnings, which is not unexpected in wood of this age. This chair stands firm, solid in joint, no wobbles. Ready to place in the home!

Circa 1835.

This High Back Windsor chair can be delivered direct to your home via private courier. Please contact us for a quote (approx. £40 to London).
