Description

A charming silver baby's rattle with two bells on mother-of-pearl handle with mother-of-pearl ring teether. The repoussé-work, heart-shaped rattle is decorated to both sides with a man on a stool, working, all within a border of flowers. To one side, the decoration includes a full English Sterling hallmark for Birmingham 1924 and the maker's/sponsor's mark for Adie & Lovekin - to the other are subsidiary Sterling and date marks. To the base of the decoration is a registered mark - 593237, indicating that the design dates from 1911. 12cmx4cm.

Excellent condition. No damage or material sign of wear.

I trade in small silver, jewellery and objets d'art. I sell primarily at antiques fairs and in cabinets in Christique Antique Centre in Dorking. I try to find unusual and interesting stock and like to keep turning it over, so I can buy more. Postage and packing are free within the UK - unless explicitly stated otherwise. I keep hardly any stock at home, if you want to buy something and need it urgently, I will usually do it the next day, but it may take me some time to respond if you need extra photographs and/or details about the piece that I do not have to hand, as I typically visit the antiques centre just once a week.
