Description

You cannot help but fall in love with this amazing piece! A very rare antique, Victorian era 'man in the moon' and diamond bangle.

Man in the moon jewellery was popular in the Victorian era and was most often seen in smaller pieces, rings, pendants or brooches.

This is the first bangle I have seen in this design and it is truly a masterpiece.

To the front of the bangle there is a hand carved man in the moon face, this is crafted from mother of pearl and has a lovely iridescent glow, his face is jolly and full of wisdom.

Either side of the moon face there are four (eight in total) large sparkling old rose cut diamonds that graduate in size, there is approximately 1.43 ct of diamonds in total and they give the most wonderful light to the face of the moon.

Crafted from rich 18ct gold, the bangle has a smooth polished finish with a light d profile leading to raised shoulders with a silver setting where the diamonds are mounted.

The bangle opens with a small hinged gold catch and has a gold safety chain attached, the safety chain is a replacement, the inner clasp is marked 18ct.

It comes in an antique leather covered bangle box marked Daux and Co, Galerie de Montpensier, Palais Royale.

An absolutely impeccable piece, fit for royalty, this would make a most memorable gift for someone special or a real investment piece for yourself.
