Description

This antique single wardrobe dates from c.1880. It is constructed from mostly solid pine, which has been stripped at some point. The wardrobe has a single mirrored door which opens to reveal a hanging section inside with a side-to-side hanging rail and hooks to the back and sides. Beneath the wardrobe section is a single long drawer. The wardrobe is supported on a plinth base. The handles have been changed at some point. The wardrobe retains its lock, but please note that no key is present.

Condition: Overall this piece is in usuable condition but does have some wear consistent with age and use. The wood is dry and faded and has some scuffing and marking. There is some splitting in places and some minor areas of wood loss. The wardrobe has been kept somewhere damp at some point and there is some damp / mould staining. It is grubby. The wardrobe would benefit from being painted or re-finished. There are some signs of restoration and repair - the handles are replacements and the hanging rail is a later addition.
