Description

This attractive antique dressing table dates from c.1910. It is constructed from mostly solid mahogany with satinwood and ebony inlays. The piece retains its original brass handles, locks and escutcheons, although please note that no key is present. There is a shaped adjustable mahogany-framed mirror at the back with mahogany supports. The work surface has a slight bow-front and there are two small drawers at the back. Beneath the work surface is a central drawer, flanked on either side by two smaller drawers. The drawers have had later paper stuck to the bases. The dressing table is supported on tapering legs with castors, which have had later castor cups fitted.

Condition: Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and the piece is overall a little faded. There are some marks and staining to the work surface, and a small area of damage and repair to the lower kneehole section. There is some scuffing to the leg. No key is present. The drawers have lining paper stuck to the bases inside. There are some dark corrosion flecks to the mirror.
