A handsome Georgian mahogany bachelor’s chest of compact, practical proportions. The well‑figured top opens to form an extended writing surface, revealing the piece’s original purpose as a small, self‑contained workspace. Below sit four graduated drawers, each fitted with attractive brass handles and shaped escutcheons, offering excellent storage. The mahogany has developed a rich, even patina, highlighting the quality of the timber and the clean Georgian lines. Bracket feet give the chest a sturdy, balanced stance, and the drawers run smoothly throughout. As with all genuine antiques, there are minor age‑related marks, but the piece remains solid, well cared for and ready to place. A versatile and elegant Georgian chest — equally useful as a bedside, lamp table or compact writing piece, bringing both character and practicality to any interior.
