A rare “Quicksay” oak kitchen cabinet, complete with its original framed memoranda panel — a charming relic of post-war domestic ingenuity. The top section features two panelled doors with bun handles, opening to a shelved interior. Inside, a framed memoranda panel curates a set of practical notes, including cooking times, cleaning tips, and measurement conversions. Opposite sits the original “Quicksay” Shopping Indicator, framed and intact. The middle section comprises a panelled fall-front door that opens to a white-painted shelf with six compartments. Five original storage jars remain, with one missing. Above, six glasses are neatly housed, while below sits a metal-lidded compartment — ideal for storing dry goods such as flour, sugar, or pulses. The base reveals a concealed chopping board, a shelved cupboard with two towel rails mounted on the door, and four drawers fitted with classic cup-style drawer pulls. As with all antique furniture, there are imperfections, but this wonderfully preserved cupboard exudes post-war domestic efficiency. Its warm oak patina, period typography, and practical layout evoke the spirit of mid-century home life — making it a striking centrepiece for a vintage-inspired kitchen or pantry.
